Anthony W Ryan

Anthony W Ryan graduated with a BSc from NUI Galway and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from University College Dublin, Ireland. He has worked at the University of Milan, Italy, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig, Germany, before returning to Ireland to work at Trinity College Dublin in 2002. In September 2017 he joined Genomics Medicine Ireland as Senior Scientist in Complex Diseases. His research focuses on genomics, and aims to understand how genetic variation and gene expression give rise to differences in disease susceptibility among individuals. Previous work has focused on autoimmune diseases including coeliac disease, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and atherosclerosis. He has published over 50 research articles and has edited a book titled “Celiac Disease Methods and Protocols” (Springer), which was published in 2015.
