Professor Louise Dubras
Professor Louise Dubras, Foundation Dean of School of Medicine, MBBS, BSc, DRCOG, FRCGP, MA(Ed), FAcadMEd, PFHEA On 1st June I arrived at Ulster university from King’s College London where I had been Deputy Dean of Medical Education; and previously Acting Dean for Education and Student experience at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. I have extensive experience of leading change and delivering innovation in undergraduate medical education, having revised the Southampton medical degree programme, led the delivery of a new collaboration with a healthcare provider in Germany, and led the delivery of an innovative new curriculum at King’s which included a longitudinal placement in General Practice for year 2 students, and a Quality Improvement module for all year 4 students. Improving outcomes for patients has always driven my educational work, with a focus on General Practice, substance misuse, social exclusion, and mental health. I still work 2 sessions a week as a General Practitioner and am passionate about continuing to work with patients and GP colleagues.
